Senior Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, implement, and manage intricate network and security solutions.

• Troubleshoot Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN), firewall, and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) environments.

• Conduct patch management for network solutions.

• Monitor network performance and capacity while identifying opportunities for enhancement.

• Analyze network issues and assess their effects on clients' business operations.

• Safeguard network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, standards, and guidelines.

• Oversee network operational status, collect and prioritize technical information, and generate reports.

• Provide remote technical assistance to on-site engineers and end users/customers.

• Assess technical requirements and convert them into appropriate network solutions.

• Proactively identify and suggest enhancements to services and solutions.

• Stay informed about pertinent network technologies, services, and products.

• Assist customers and on-site engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration.

• Over 5 years of professional experience managing Cisco, Fortinet, or Check Point Next-Generation Firewall environments.

• In-depth knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 (L2/L3) networking protocols and technologies, including Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), L2 security, 802.1X, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

• Comprehensive understanding of the TCP/IP stack protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, and ICMP.

• Practical experience with wireless services, including deployment and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Solid understanding of VPN solutions and encryption services.

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and a robust understanding of network protocols.

• Ability to swiftly investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex network issues.

• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

• Customer-centric mindset with excellent communication skills.

• Proficiency in English at the Upper-Intermediate level or above.

• Preferred qualifications: Cisco CCNP Enterprise certification, Fortinet NSE 4 certification, Check Point CCSA certification, experience with Azure/AWS/GCP, AZ-700 certification or equivalent, Meraki cloud deployments, and automation skills with Python, Bash scripting, APIs, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
