Firewall / Network Architecture Reviewer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Evaluate firewall configurations, access permissions, and the overall network/security framework for County departments.

• Detect vulnerabilities, shortcomings, and staff skill deficiencies in relation to current IT security protocols.

• Analyze firewall diagnostics, rule sets, and configurations to identify security deficiencies.

• Review network segmentation and overall security architecture to ensure alignment with best practices.

• Examine IT security staffing levels and skill gaps, quantifying time allocated to security issues and shared IT/security responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in network security architecture or firewall assessment.

• In-depth knowledge of enterprise firewall solutions (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, or similar).

• Must be located within the continental United States.

• CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, or a comparable certification is preferred.

• Experience in conducting assessments of IT security staffing and skill gaps is preferred.
