Project Engineer – Network Infrastructure, Office Deployments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement infrastructure for new office locations, relocations, and network upgrades.

• Install and set up firewalls, managed switches, access points, and related hardware.

• Execute VLAN configurations, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing, and firewall policies.

• Configure site-to-site and remote access VPNs, SD-WAN, and ISP failover solutions.

• Collaborate with ISPs, cabling contractors, and third-party suppliers.

• Diagnose routing, connectivity, wireless, and performance challenges.

• Develop network diagrams, IP plans, configuration records, and handoff documentation.

• Manage assigned technical tasks from the planning stage to completion.

• Work alongside Project Managers on defined scope, budgets, schedules, and risks.

• Keep accurate records of time entries, project updates, and technical documentation.

• Assist during cutovers, validation, post-implementation support, and transition to operations.

• Ensure billable utilization aligns with departmental standards.

• Act as a technical advisor for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

• Build and implement solutions, document configurations, support end users, and guarantee a smooth transition into ongoing support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate and Meraki firewalls.

• Proficiency in Cisco, Meraki, UniFi, and Fortinet switching technologies.

• Familiarity with Meraki, Aruba, and UniFi wireless systems.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and routing protocols.

• Experience with office deployments, rack-and-stack operations, network refreshes, and cutover processes.

• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.

• Working familiarity with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.

• Understanding of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and basic Azure networking.

• Familiarity with storage and backup solutions such as Synology, Dell EMC, and Veeam.

• Over 5 years of relevant IT infrastructure experience with practical network deployments.

• Capable of independently executing network infrastructure projects.

• Maintain a foundational understanding of related networking, cloud, infrastructure, security, and identity technologies.

• Willingness to travel for project work at least once a month.

• Available to work nights and weekends for off-hours upgrades and migrations.
