This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create, implement, and optimize Layer 2/3 networks (Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto) in data centers, labs, and office settings.
• Ensure high-capacity connections (10 GbE – 100 GbE), manage routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and establish firewall policies to achieve stringent latency and uptime goals.
• Leverage Ansible, Python, or Terraform to convert repetitive tasks into reproducible playbooks and CI/CD workflows.
• Perform tri-level troubleshooting (physical, logical, cloud edge) for P1/P2 incidents; participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation.
• Maintain up-to-date diagrams, runbooks, and change logs to enable the broader Ops and SRE teams to act swiftly.
• Collaborate with InfoSec to strengthen configurations, manage certificates/keys, and address vulnerabilities through switch upgrades.
• 5-8 years of experience in enterprise/data center networking; familiarity with Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco WLCs.
• Extensive knowledge in L2/L3 (Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF), VPN, and firewall technologies.
• Proficiency in automation tools: Python, Ansible/Terraform (or similar).
• Experience with cloud services: AWS/Azure/GCP (VPC, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, TGW).
• Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, adept in documentation/runbooks, and capable of mentoring junior engineers.
• Preferred certifications: CCNA/CCNP/PCNSE.
