
Senior Motion Planning Engineer β Trajectory Optimization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.
β’ Design, create, and enhance motion planning algorithms, which include trajectory generation, trajectory selection, behavior planning, and optimization-based planning.
β’ Develop planning solutions utilizing graph search, sampling-based approaches, optimization techniques, spline/B-spline trajectories, convex optimization, and Frenet-frame methods.
β’ Integrate vehicle kinematic and dynamic constraints into planning frameworks.
β’ Create high-quality modern C++ software in a Linux environment.
β’ Engage in discussions about software architecture and participate in technical design activities.
β’ Formulate and implement validation strategies across SiL, HiL, and ViL settings.
β’ Work collaboratively with Safety, Controls, Perception, Validation, and Simulation teams.
β’ Analyze and troubleshoot vehicle behavior through simulation and system-performance evaluation.
β’ Assist in vehicle integration, deployment, and post-deployment assessments.
β’ Take part in technical design reviews, code evaluations, and continuous improvement efforts.
β’ Mentor junior engineers.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with over 5 years of industry experience; OR a Master's degree with over 3 years of experience; OR a PhD with at least 1 year of experience.
β’ Strong expertise in modern C++ development within Linux-based environments.
β’ Experience in developing robotics, autonomous vehicles, ADAS, or other intricate real-time software systems.
β’ Significant experience in motion planning, trajectory generation, trajectory optimization, behavior planning, or decision-making systems for robotics or autonomous vehicles.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vehicle kinematics, trajectory feasibility, and planning system architecture.
β’ Strong foundation in linear algebra, numerical optimization, geometry, and robotics algorithms.
β’ Solid understanding of software engineering principles, system design concepts, and scalable development methodologies.
β’ Experience throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to validation, deployment, and operational support.
β’ Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system-level challenges.
β’ Excellent communication and teamwork skills in cross-functional engineering groups.
β’ Capacity to work autonomously while effectively contributing in a highly collaborative setting.
