This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and enhance the cloud-based macOS virtual machine fleet, which includes provisioning automation, capacity planning, health monitoring, and recovery.
• Ensure that runners are dependable, current, and uniformly configured across various environments.
• Design, sustain, and refine build, test, signing, and release workflows for both iOS and Android applications.
• Enhance build times, queue times, and flake rates through systematic measurement and iterative improvements.
• Create reusable workflows, composite actions, and shared tools for iOS, Android, and infrastructure repositories.
• Develop consistent, maintainable GitHub Actions CI authoring methodologies.
• Write robust, well-tested Python and shell scripts for build orchestration, runner management, artifact handling, and secret lifecycle management.
• Monitor runner health, build durations, and failure trends.
• Manage alerting for outages and degraded states in pipelines.
• Maintain consistency in toolchain versions across developer machines and CI environments.
• Document systems and create runbooks.
• Manage Apple distribution certificates, provisioning profiles, and export configurations.
• Automate the monitoring and rotation of certificate and provisioning profile expirations.
• Contribute to Android build and signing workflows, including multi-flavor and multi-variant pipelines.
• Deliver Android builds via Firebase App Distribution.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to minimize friction throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure the reliability, quality, and delivery of FDA-regulated medical device software.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, CI/CD, or build/release engineering with significant ownership of production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant job experience.
• Proficient in Python, shell scripting, YAML, and Git.
• Production experience with GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, matrix strategies, concurrency controls, and composite actions.
• Strong expertise in iOS CI, including Xcode build configuration, Apple code signing, simulator management, and automated TestFlight or App Store delivery.
• Experience with cloud-hosted or local macOS VM platforms such as Orka/MacStadium, Tart, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Apple Developer account management, including certificates, provisioning profiles, and the App Store Connect API.
• Experience with Firebase App Distribution for internal mobile build delivery.
• Knowledge of Android build systems and signing pipelines.
• Experience integrating mobile testing frameworks into CI pipelines.
• Background in iOS or Android mobile development.
• Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, with traceability and compliance requirements.
• Experience executing multi-flavor/multi-variant Android builds with regional distribution targets.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
