This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate, strategize, and implement the transition of on-premise technologies to the cloud encompassing network, hybrid connectivity, compute, storage, databases, applications, and AI tools.
• Deploy multi-cloud solutions utilizing AWS and Azure, focusing on standardization, native-service optimization, and workload interoperability.
• Develop the FinOps operational framework through right-sizing, optimization of compute and storage, autoscaling, cost transparency, guardrails, and minimizing maintenance and licensing expenses.
• Provide global content delivery and workload enhancement to ensure swift and efficient applications.
• Create multi-region high availability, disaster recovery, backup and restore solutions, along with observability and telemetry capabilities.
• Establish the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) discipline, which includes defining SLIs/SLOs, managing error budgets, incident management, conducting blameless postmortems, on-call duties, escalation processes, and automation for toil reduction.
• Enforce security measures including identity management, encryption, secrets management, network segmentation, zero-trust principles, compliance standards, and data sovereignty controls.
• Automate infrastructure management using Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies along with Python or PowerShell scripting.
• Oversee cloud vendors and migration partners, enhancing delivery through agile methodologies and kanban practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to develop solutions.
• Mentor and nurture engineers while acting as a specialist in cloud readiness.
• A minimum of 8 years in infrastructure and cloud engineering with a lead-level focus.
• Practical experience in both on-premise and cloud settings.
• Proven track record of migrating on-premise systems to cloud environments covering network, compute, storage, and databases.
• Experience in application modernization beyond simple re-hosting.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing multi-cloud strategies and production solutions with major providers, preferably AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with FinOps principles, including right-sizing, commitment and discount strategies, cost visibility, and minimizing recurring software maintenance and licensing costs.
• Background in global content delivery, workload optimization, capacity planning, performance engineering, and autoscaling.
• Knowledge in multi-region high availability, disaster recovery, backup strategies, observability, telemetry, and on-call operations.
• Experience in establishing SRE practices, such as SLOs, error budgets, incident command, blameless postmortems, on-call processes, and toil reduction strategies.
• Understanding of least-privilege IAM, secrets management, encryption, network segmentation, zero-trust principles, regional compliance, and data sovereignty.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and GDPR.
• Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
• Skilled in Python or PowerShell scripting.
• Experience utilizing AI to facilitate assessment, migration, and automation processes.
• Proven experience in managing cloud vendors and migration partners.
• Familiarity with agile and kanban methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Cloud certifications (AWS or Azure) are advantageous.
