This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Enhance the overall experience of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) through automation and innovative design.
• Offer strategic guidance and plans for both current and future desktop virtualization architectures and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with teams in Virtualization Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Infrastructure Service Management on engineering and design initiatives.
• Engage in the creation and design of repeatable patterns (build-kits) to expedite deployment times for both non-production and production environments.
• Transfer knowledge effectively to the Infrastructure Operations team.
• A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience in Information Technology or a related field, OR a Technical Certification and/or College Courses with 7 years of Information Technology experience, OR 9 years of Information Technology experience.
• Proven hands-on experience in designing, building, configuring, operating, and supporting Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
• Familiarity with configuring and managing AVD components such as host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, desktop assignments, scaling, and user access.
• Strong expertise in FSLogix, including profile containers, configuration, storage integration, troubleshooting, and profile performance optimization.
• Experience in building and supporting Microsoft RemoteApp / AVD RemoteApp solutions for enterprise-level application delivery.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure Automation.
• Proficiency in Operations Management.
• Understanding of ITIL v3 practices.
• Familiarity with IT standards, procedures, and policies.
• Ability to simplify and standardize complex concepts and processes.
• Awareness of business priorities, trends, and market dynamics.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, tools, and techniques.
• Experience in supplier management.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and make trade-off decisions.
• Ability to drive cross-functional execution.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
