Senior ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete lifecycle of machine learning-driven features, encompassing research, testing, training, deployment, and production monitoring.

• Implement intelligent routing decisions throughout the payment process.

• Develop machine learning infrastructure that includes versioning, CI/CD, and observability.

• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to transform use cases into measurable results.

• Utilize a pragmatic, impact-focused approach for experimentation and model evaluation.

• Guide engineers in the adoption of machine learning techniques.

• Engage directly with customers to validate concepts and test solutions against actual usage.

• Assist in defining technical direction and prioritizing machine learning use cases.

• Create dependable and repeatable machine learning methodologies and practices at Primer.

• Report to engineering leadership during the development of the machine learning function.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in machine learning engineering, data science, or applied research, with real-world production deployments via API, batch, or streaming.

• Proficiency in designing and executing experiments and A/B tests, along with interpreting their results.

• Strong skills in Python programming.

• Practical experience with tools such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.

• A solid foundation in modern software engineering principles, infrastructure, and data tools.

• Awareness of MLOps challenges throughout the entire machine learning lifecycle.

• Familiarity with reinforcement learning concepts, including multi-armed or contextual bandits.

• Experience with cloud environments; AWS is preferred, though GCP or Azure are also acceptable.

• Ability to independently research, develop, and implement solutions.

• Background in payments or e-commerce is advantageous but not mandatory.
