Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the Sierra/Rockies region.

• Act as the field-based expert in science and clinical matters regarding current and upcoming Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines products.

• Facilitate two-way scientific dialogue with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

• Cultivate professional connections with community and academic healthcare providers/key opinion leaders (HCPs/KOLs).

• Utilize MSL tools, insights, and AI technologies to enhance customer engagement, decision-making, processes, and outcomes.

• Identify educational needs of providers and deliver customized, scientifically balanced responses.

• Convey complex clinical evidence through clear and effective scientific communication.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional discussions.

• Provide support to investigators and internal stakeholders for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated research.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective and compliant information.

• Collaborate with MSL field partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing teams.

• Maintain scientific knowledge through self-directed study, journal clubs, seminars, conferences, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and belonging in both internal and external interactions.

• Adhere to regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, Medical Affairs SOPs, and guidelines.

• Develop performance and development plans and carry out leadership projects in partnership with the direct manager.

• Complete administrative tasks, including expense reports and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is necessary for doctoral-level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, demonstrating success as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL).

• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration across functions.

• Ability to cover a defined territory with possible travel of up to 70%.

• A valid US Driver's License is preferred.

• Residency or fellowship experience is preferred.

• Knowledge or experience in the therapeutic area is beneficial.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, and remote technologies is essential.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is required.

• A commitment to learning about emerging technologies, including AI, is essential.

• Must be located in a major metropolitan area; preference for Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, or Denver.
