Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the designated territory.

• Facilitate two-way scientific interactions with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

• Cultivate professional relationships with community and academic healthcare professionals (HCPs) and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

• Utilize MSL tools, insights, and AI technologies to enhance customer engagement, decision-making processes, and outcomes.

• Assess educational needs of providers and deliver customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Present intricate clinical evidence during significant scientific discussions.

• Gather and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional collaborations.

• Assist investigators and internal teams with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective and compliant information.

• Implement Medical Affairs strategies and MSL priorities while adapting to changing data and organizational objectives.

• Collaborate in a compliant manner with MSL field partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Sustain scientific knowledge through self-directed learning, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and belonging both internally and externally.

• Uphold competence in regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs policies.

• Establish a performance and development plan with the direct supervisor.

• Undertake leadership projects that bolster medical planning and organizational capabilities.

• Fulfill administrative obligations, including expense reporting and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is mandatory (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is required for Doctoral-level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including a proven track record as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic knowledge with skills in research, data analysis, clinical expertise, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Must be able to support a designated territory with up to 70% travel.

• A valid US Driver’s License is preferred.

• Residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Knowledge or experience in the relevant therapeutic area is essential.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is required.

• A commitment to learning about emerging technologies, including AI.

• Must be located in a major metropolitan area; preference for Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, or Denver.
