Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a scientific engagement strategy for the Pacific Northwest region.

• Facilitate two-way scientific dialogue with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals.

• Build and nurture professional connections with community and academic healthcare providers/key opinion leaders.

• Leverage MSL tools and insights to formulate strategic approaches for customer engagement.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance decision-making, efficiency, and overall outcomes.

• Assess provider educational requirements and offer customized, scientifically sound responses.

• Convey complex clinical evidence through clear and impactful scientific communication.

• Gather, synthesize, and disseminate actionable insights that inform medical strategy and asset planning.

• Assist investigators and internal stakeholders with company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.

• Address unsolicited research and clinical inquiries with objective and compliant information.

• Implement the Medical Affairs strategy and MSL objectives while adapting to changing data and organizational priorities.

• Collaborate ethically with MSL partners, R&D, US and Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• Enhance scientific knowledge through self-directed learning, journal clubs, seminars, congresses, and peer discussions.

• Promote inclusion and belonging, supporting collaborative One J&J objectives.

• Stay informed about regulatory, healthcare compliance, corporate conduct, and Medical Affairs policies.

• Develop performance and growth plans and undertake leadership projects with the direct manager.

• Fulfill administrative tasks, including expense reports and activity documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience is required (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Providers, etc.).

• Postgraduate experience is mandatory for Doctoral level candidates, with a preference for therapeutic clinical experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, demonstrating success as an MSL.

• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise in research, data analysis, clinical knowledge, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to manage a defined territory with up to 70% travel required.

• Must possess a valid US Driver’s License (preferred).

• Residency or fellowship is preferred.

• Knowledge or experience in the therapeutic area is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, as well as familiarity with computers and remote technologies.

• Relevant clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience is preferred.

• A commitment to learning about emerging technologies such as AI is essential.

• Must be based in a major metropolitan area; Spokane, Boise, or Portland is preferred.
