Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the formulation and implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy in alignment with clinical development, regulatory, commercial, and corporate goals.

• Act as a medical and scientific authority on NaV1.8 and the changing landscape of acute pain treatment.

• Establish and nurture relationships with healthcare professionals, opinion leaders, professional organizations, regulatory bodies, and other significant external stakeholders.

• Represent Latigo Medical Affairs at scientific conferences, investigator meetings, advisory boards, and other relevant external scientific gatherings.

• Facilitate scientific discussions to uncover unmet needs, treatment trends, evidence gaps, and obstacles to implementation.

• Collaborate with matrix teams to support clinical development, regulatory engagements, and evidence-generation strategies.

• Lead the Medical Affairs contributions to publication strategy, congress organization, scientific communication, and medical education initiatives.

• Manage pre-launch and launch preparedness, including field medical strategy, scientific resources, medical information, and training.

• Provide medical and scientific guidance across cross-functional teams and contribute to the enhancement of Medical Affairs capabilities as Latigo expands.

• Report directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD/DO is preferred; a PharmD or PhD with substantial relevant experience may be acceptable.

• A minimum of 8 years in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology field, ideally within Medical Affairs.

• Pre-launch and/or launch experience is highly desired.

• Scientific knowledge in pain management or a related therapeutic area is advantageous.

• Proven experience in engaging with opinion leaders, managing publications, participating in congresses, generating evidence, and scientific communication.

• Strong strategic thinking, communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities with an emphasis on execution.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial biotech setting.

• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% for internal meetings, congresses, and external scientific interactions.
