Associate Director, Medical Affairs, Congress Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of annual and multi-year congress strategies for Kardigan's portfolio.

• Identify and prioritize congress opportunities that align with Medical Affairs objectives, milestones for evidence generation, priorities for scientific communication, and goals for launch readiness.

• Establish congress-specific objectives, metrics for success, stakeholder engagement strategies, and priorities for generating insights.

• Assist Medical Affairs activities throughout the entire congress lifecycle, which includes planning workshops, strategizing scientific content, developing medical booth strategies, planning KOL engagement, preparing and training MSLs, and conducting internal leadership briefings.

• Direct medical booth and scientific exchange initiatives, coverage of scientific sessions, gathering competitive intelligence, capturing insights, organizing executive briefings, and facilitating KOL and investigator interactions during congresses.

• Create summaries of congress events, strategic evaluations, synthesis and reporting of insights, presentations for leadership, and recommendations for future congress activities.

• Lead integrated processes for congress planning, including timelines, governance structures, and execution plans across functions.

• Develop and maintain congress dashboards, tools for tracking milestones, and metrics for performance after congress events.

• Establish scalable operating procedures and best practices as Kardigan progresses towards commercialization.

• Support strategies for medical symposia, including faculty identification and management, content strategy, scientific messaging, and educational objectives.

• Collaborate with Scientific Communications to enhance congress impact through podcasts, digital content, educational materials, and initiatives focused on disease-state education.

• Construct frameworks for generating insights from congresses; synthesize findings from congresses, KOL engagements, scientific sessions, and discussions with investigators for internal stakeholders.

• Convert congress intelligence into actionable recommendations that inform evidence generation, clinical development, medical strategy, publication planning, and readiness for launch.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in supporting major medical congresses.

• Strong comprehension of scientific communications and the dissemination of evidence.

• Proven project leadership skills in complex, cross-functional settings.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Preferred: 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech Medical Affairs.

• Preferred: Advanced life sciences degree (PhD, PharmD).

• Preferred: Experience in the cardiovascular therapeutic area.

• Preferred: Experience in global congress planning.

• Preferred: Experience supporting products in pre-launch or launch stages.

• Preferred: Familiarity with publication planning and medical education strategies.
