This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design and oversee mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through to completion.
• Create mechanical engineering construction documents while ensuring compliance with client specifications, regulatory codes, and site modifications.
• Handle multiple projects and clients simultaneously while adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Act as the primary contact for clients and nurture client relationships.
• Draft and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
• Oversee staffing, resource management, budgeting, scheduling, and overall project execution.
• Provide technical expertise regarding constructability, code adherence, and system integration.
• Monitor project financial performance, focusing on profitability, efficiency, accounts receivable, forecasting, and key project metrics.
• Lead and synchronize internal multidisciplinary teams, external consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Evaluate project documents and staff outputs to ensure quality assurance and control.
• Identify project risks, liability issues, constructability obstacles, and develop proactive solutions.
• Manage, mentor, and cultivate the skills of Project Engineers, Engineering Designers, and other assigned personnel.
• Contribute to business development, client relationship management, growth initiatives, and pursuing new clients.
• Leverage expertise in HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems.
• Collaborate with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Over 10 years of experience in the production of general building mechanical design.
• Preferably experienced with commercial projects, including retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD is a plus.
