This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Establish the approach for developing and validating equipment scope during the FEED phase.
• Assess and confirm the mechanical details within datasheets, vendor documentation, and discipline transitions.
• Develop repeatable verification processes that identify scope gaps and inconsistencies early on.
• Analyze the areas where mechanical rework occurs and the typical causes behind it.
• Define and clarify interfaces with Process, Piping, I&C, and Electrical disciplines.
• Distinguish between steps that are repetitive and those that necessitate genuine engineering judgment.
• Over 7 years of experience in an EPC, PMC, or as an owner operator.
• Deep understanding of FEED and early detailed design workflows in mechanical engineering.
• Proven experience in creating and reviewing equipment datasheets and vendor documentation.
• Knowledge of ASME code-driven equipment practices and familiarity with common downstream equipment types.
• Skilled in identifying inconsistencies across datasheets, P&IDs, and vendor documents.
• Strong grasp of cross-discipline dependencies.
• Experience with turbomachinery-intensive scopes or packaged systems (Nice to Have).
• Experience transitioning equipment from FEED into procurement and detailed engineering (Nice to Have).
• Interest in AI or automation technologies (Nice to Have).
