Mechanical Design Engineer – Water Industry, Pumping Stations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Proficient in Mechanical Design and Pumping Systems

• Design and engineer pumping stations, including mechanical layouts and equipment selection

• Specify and size pumps, piping systems, valves, and related mechanical equipment

• Generate comprehensive design calculations, technical drawings, and specifications

• Ensure that designs fulfill performance, reliability, and maintainability standards

• Implement relevant water industry standards, such as WIMES

• Guarantee adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Assist in design reviews and ensure compliance with project and client specifications

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and process engineers

• Support various project phases, including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning

• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure technical compliance and quality

• Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of mechanical systems

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of design methodologies and engineering practices

• Aid in the integration of new technologies within water infrastructure projects

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in mechanical design within the water or utilities sector

• Demonstrated experience in designing pumping stations, pumps, and piping systems

• Knowledge of mechanical principles, fluid systems, and hydraulic calculations

• Familiarity with WIMES standards and practices within the water industry

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent military experience
