This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and sustain electrical systems for modular containerized data centers, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, grounding, cable sizing, and raceway layouts adhering to various low-voltage distribution standards (480 V and other international LV systems).
• Conduct protective device coordination, arc flash, and short-circuit analyses using SKM, ETAP, or equivalent software. Generate labels and coordination reports for field application.
• Evaluate and redline vendor submissions for UPS systems, battery systems, cooling distribution units, switchgear, main distribution boards, PDUs, and generator/ATS packages. Ensure vendors comply with specifications and highlight discrepancies promptly.
• Assist manufacturing partners by addressing RFIs, resolving layout and piping/cable routing conflicts, and engaging in factory witness testing.
• Contribute to compliance across multiple jurisdictions concerning a variety of international electrical, fire, and mission-critical facility regulations, while coordinating with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
• Create comprehensive engineering documentation including Statements of Requirements, design basis memos, block diagrams, and commissioning procedures. If writing is not your strength, this role may not be for you.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, structural, and fire protection engineers, as well as external consultants. You should be prepared to challenge issues when necessary, irrespective of hierarchy.
• Assist in field commissioning and troubleshooting efforts, which may involve occasional international travel to manufacturing partner locations, deployments, and trade events.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3–7 years of experience in electrical design post-degree, with a minimum of 2 years in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial power, or similar complex power distribution environments.
• Proven knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70) and, preferably, one or more IEC-based national codes. Experience in multi-jurisdictional design is a significant advantage.
• Practical experience with protection coordination and arc flash software (SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar tools).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or Revit MEP, along with Bluebeam Revu (or equivalent) for submittal markup.
• Understanding of UPS systems (double-conversion topology, battery sizing, parallel operation), medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and generator/ATS integration.
• Capability to read mechanical and structural drawings sufficiently to identify interdisciplinary conflicts prior to manufacturing.
• Strong written communication skills. You will be responsible for preparing RFI responses, submittal reviews, and technical memos intended for vendors and executives.
• Competitive base salary and equity
• Medical, dental, and vision coverage (subsidized cost)
• Health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), and dependent care FSAs (DCFSA)
• Retirement plan options, including 401(k) and Roth 401(k)
• Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
• 14 paid company holidays annually
