This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the design and evaluation of mechanical systems for intricate healthcare facility projects.
β’ Act as a technical expert, utilizing advanced mechanical engineering principles to tackle distinctive challenges in healthcare environments.
β’ Execute quality assurance and quality control to guarantee that mechanical designs align with project goals and regulatory requirements.
β’ Conduct research to develop innovative design solutions that enhance patient care and operational effectiveness.
β’ Guide and mentor staff on mechanical design methodologies to fulfill project needs and client expectations.
β’ Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to embed mechanical systems into comprehensive project designs.
β’ Contribute to the establishment of standards and protocols for mechanical engineering tasks within the team.
β’ Offer high-level technical assistance and make independent recommendations and decisions that improve the design and functionality of healthcare environments.
β’ Excellent communication skills.
β’ Demonstrated capability to work effectively within a team.
β’ Strong interpersonal and analytical problem-solving skills.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering.
β’ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
β’ Minimum of 8 years of mechanical engineering experience with progressively increasing responsibility, ideally in the design of healthcare facilities.
β’ Relevant healthcare certifications such as ASHRAE Healthcare Facilities Design Professional (HFDP), ASSE 6060 Medical Gas Systems Designer, and/or ASSE 12080 Certified Legionella Water Safety & Management Specialist are advantageous.
β’ Membership in a state or national chapter of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) or a similar organization is beneficial.
β’ Experience in the development of National Codes/Standards and involvement in pertinent committees is highly desirable.
β’ Additional healthcare-related certifications, such as Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) or Healthcare Physical Environment Worker, are a plus.
β’ Proven ability to lead complex mechanical design projects and provide technical guidance within a team.
