This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Gather information from the site, Project Engineering Manager, logistics, and the Center of Excellence to create installation and maintenance sequences as well as transport lashing drawings.
• Establish erection and maintenance procedures in accordance with site protocols, standard tools, and EHS regulations.
• Conduct calculations and design tools in line with CoE Design Practices, approved by the tooling principal engineer.
• Act as the representative of the Tooling Center of Excellence for project, supply chain, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Coordinate the design and calculation of tools while adhering to planning, cost, and safety standards.
• Create specialized tools, including 3D models, calculation documentation, fabrication drawings, and user manuals.
• Determine machine access and specific packing necessities.
• Develop lifting drawings.
• Approve tooling designs when required for North American projects.
• Input synopsis BOM into the GE product lifecycle management system.
• Engage in tool or component design to fulfill tooling requirements.
• Act as the primary contact for the site team regarding support requests.
• Coordinate synopsis tasks with subcontractors or technicians.
• Recognize standard tools available in the market.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience.
• Extensive experience (>5 years) in mechanical design.
• US stamp is mandatory.
• Experience in the design of lifting equipment and access platforms or substantial on-site experience.
• Proficient knowledge of CAD and calculation methodologies.
• Exceptional written and verbal English skills for effective international communication.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proven leadership capabilities.
• Familiarity with Hydropower Plant products (preferred).
• Experience in project management (preferred).
