This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Supervise the creation and final endorsement of project contract documents generated by third-party design consultants.
• Ensure that project designs are finalized on time and within the budget.
• Provide engineering expertise and advice on projects, operations, and systems within current facilities.
• Develop and uphold equipment specifications for owner-furnished and contractor-installed equipment and systems.
• Assist procurement by reviewing vendor submissions, granting approvals, and conducting factory witness testing.
• Keep and refresh legacy basis of design documents.
• Aid in creating new basis of design documents for emerging business requirements.
• Identify, suggest, and implement technologies and systems to enhance energy and cost efficiency in data centers.
• Convey and enforce engineering and design policies, practices, standards, and security protocols.
• Stay informed about emerging engineering and design technologies and trends.
• Support innovation initiatives, campus master planning, and collaborate with the Vice President of Architecture on a multi-phase campus-scale construction project.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is preferred (Mechanical).
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or comparable work experience.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the design of data centers and specification of HVAC equipment for mission-critical facilities is required for the Director level position.
• Candidates with 5-7 years’ experience in data center design may apply but will be considered for a Manager level position.
• Expertise in IT cooling technologies, including both air and direct-to-chip liquid systems.
• Understanding of mechanical cooling system controls.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Baseline proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background screening.
• Some domestic travel is required, estimated at 25-33%.
