This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assist in the development of proposals by preparing deliverable lists, estimating engineering hours, and offering mechanical engineering insights.
• Act as the lead mechanical engineer for medium to large-scale projects.
• Create project deliverables, oversee junior mechanical engineering personnel, and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Generate P&IDs, equipment location layouts, piping plans, piping isometrics, piping material specifications, mechanical equipment inventories, piping line listings, specialty items inventories, and scopes of work for construction.
• Coordinate design activities, scope modifications, engineering budgets, and scheduling challenges with project management and other disciplines.
• Execute and verify engineering calculations, including equipment sizing, hydraulic evaluations, and pipe stress analyses.
• Aid in equipment procurement by preparing specifications, data sheets, quotations, technical bid comparisons, and reviewing vendor data.
• Conduct occasional site visits for proposal formulation, project inspections, field data collection, design validation, and construction assistance.
• Support the development of project models and system layouts.
• Assist the Chief Mechanical Engineer in distributing workload and planning manpower allocations.
• Offer guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Knowledge of design, industrial processes, and energy projects.
• Experience in industrial and/or energy-related sectors.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
• A Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Over 9 years of experience in industrial and/or energy-related sectors is preferred.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, and ASTM is preferred.
• Experience with Pipe-Flo, Applied Flow Technology Fathom, and CAESAR II is preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits.
