This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Create and assess civil engineering designs for underground utility systems and projects involving utility corridors.

• Design subterranean pathways, duct banks, trenches, utility crossings, access structures, conduit systems, and associated civil infrastructure.

• Assess utility routes and devise feasible alignments for both greenfield and brownfield initiatives.

• Factor in utility conflicts, right-of-way limitations, environmental aspects, agency stipulations, and permitting requirements into design solutions.

• Draft construction drawings, plan-and-profile sheets, details, specifications, exhibits, and permit packages.

• Assist in utility relocation planning, pathway enhancement, and coordination between proposed and existing infrastructure.

• Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D to create and evaluate alignments, profiles, surfaces, corridors, grading, utility layouts, and civil design models.

• Produce and confirm plan-and-profile drawings, utility exhibits, quantity takeoffs, design calculations, and project deliverables.

• Examine conflicts between proposed underground utility pathways and existing subsurface or above-ground structures.

• Incorporate survey data, GIS information, LiDAR, utility records, as-builts, and field information into engineering models.

• Facilitate digital engineering workflows and model-based delivery methodologies.

• Conduct technical assessments of civil utility design packages and engineering outputs.

• Ensure adherence to client standards, utility owner specifications, agency criteria, and industry best practices.

• Recognize design risks, utility conflicts, constructability challenges, and deficiencies, providing solutions for resolution.

• Collaborate with utility owners, municipalities, transportation agencies, permitting authorities, and project stakeholders.

• Aid in utility conflict resolution, utility relocation planning, and agency coordination throughout design and construction phases.

• Assist with permit applications, design exhibits, agency feedback, and regulatory review responses.

• Engage in design review meetings, utility coordination meetings, and constructability workshops.

• Provide engineering support during construction and implementation phases.

• Review contractor RFIs, submittals, field modifications, and change requests.

• Assess field conditions and propose practical civil engineering solutions.

• Support as-built documentation, redline reviews, and project closeout processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, along with 2 years of pertinent experience or a proven equivalent of experience and/or education.

• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D is mandatory.

• Experience in creating civil engineering plans or underground utility designs is essential.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is advantageous.

• Background in designing underground utility pathways, utility corridors, duct banks, utility crossings, utility relocations, or buried infrastructure systems.

• Experience in civil infrastructure, electric distribution, water/wastewater utilities, municipal utilities, transportation utilities, telecommunications, or other utility design settings.

• Familiarity with Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Bluebeam Revu, Bentley OpenRoads, or comparable engineering platforms.

• Competence in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, survey data, utility records, and construction documents.

• Understanding of utility coordination, right-of-way requirements, permitting processes, and agency review protocols.

• Experience in conducting utility conflict analysis, subsurface utility coordination, constructability reviews, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimation.

• Knowledge of DOT requirements, utility accommodation policies, municipal design standards, and typical underground utility design practices.

• Experience in supporting transportation, municipal, utility, industrial, energy, data center, broadband, or large infrastructure projects.

• Applicants are required to submit relevant Autodesk Civil 3D design samples.

• Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
