This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assist in the development of proposals by creating lists of deliverables, estimating engineering hours, and supplying mechanical engineering insights.
• Act as the principal mechanical engineer for medium to large-scale projects.
• Create project deliverables and oversee junior mechanical engineering personnel.
• Collaborate on mechanical design with other disciplines and project management teams.
• Produce P&IDs, equipment location diagrams, piping layouts, piping isometric drawings, piping material specifications, equipment inventories, line lists, specialty items lists, and scopes of work for construction.
• Manage scope alterations, engineering budgets, and schedule limitations.
• Execute and verify equipment sizing, hydraulic, and pipe stress calculations.
• Facilitate equipment procurement by providing specifications, data sheets, quotes, technical bid comparisons, and vendor data assessments.
• Occasionally visit job sites for proposals, walkthroughs, field data collection, design validation, and construction support.
• Contribute to project model development and system arrangement.
• Aid in workload distribution and manpower planning.
• Offer guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Knowledge of design principles, industrial processes, and energy projects.
• Experience in industrial and/or energy sectors.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes, including API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, and ASTM.
• Proficient in engineering calculation software such as Pipe-Flo, Applied Flow Technology Fathom, and CAESAR II.
• A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Preference for candidates with 9+ years of experience in industrial and/or energy sectors.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship for employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
