Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Create 2D CAD drawings, which encompass process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).

• Develop 3D CAD/BIM models, plant layouts, piping designs, isometric drawings, material take-offs (MTO), general arrangement drawings, detailed drawings, and sketches.

• Conduct layout optimization engineering throughout various design phases.

• Engage in 3D model reviews, layout assessments, design evaluations, and technical discussions.

• Ensure adherence to necessary design safety factors, tolerances, specifications, standards, codes, legislation, and requirements.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve a cohesive design.

• Document the design process in line with best design practices.

• Manage and update databases for CAD/BIM design documentation.

• Provide status reports and updates to management.

• Support the team while upholding required standards and expectations.

• Achieve targets while adhering to quality, timing, and budget constraints.

• Facilitate and mediate solutions and issues, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.

• Comply with the company's statutory health and safety policies and regulations, as well as project quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or in a comparable position.

• Capability to collaborate within the engineering team to bring designs to fruition.

• Proficient with 2D CAD systems (such as AutoCAD) for drawing production.

• Familiar with 3D CAD/BIM systems (including Revit, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or similar) for model and drawing generation.

• Professional qualification in an engineering-related discipline.

• SC Clearance or the ability to obtain it.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
