This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in the design and analysis of mechanical components for high-power electronic products that support hydrogen electrolysis systems.
• Collaborate with lead mechanical designers on the layout and integration of power systems, thermal management solutions, and structural designs from the prototype stage to production release.
• Develop and issue comprehensive drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies to facilitate manufacturing and production processes.
• Execute detailed mechanical designs for power bussing and bus interfaces used in high-current DC output systems.
• Work with systems optimization and modeling teams to assess power system performance and analyze cost tradeoffs for the plant.
• Engage in design reviews and contribute to both internal and external technical documentation pertaining to mechanical design of power systems.
• Provide support for manufacturing, testing, and field deployment activities as required.
• Contribute to design considerations for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability throughout the product development lifecycle.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with over 5 years of relevant industry experience, or a PhD with at least 2 years of applicable experience.
• Proven experience in designing mechanical systems for high-power electrical equipment or power distribution systems.
• In-depth understanding of thermal management, structural analysis, and principles of mechanical integration.
• Preferred experience with power bussing, bus bars, and high-current electrical interfaces.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software and adept at creating detailed drawings.
• Experience in supporting products from the prototype phase through to production release.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate across functions.
