Senior MDR Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assess and evaluate unusual network and system events in a 24x7x365 SOC environment through leadless threat hunting.

• Partner with MDR Analysts to explore and investigate emerging cybersecurity threats.

• Act as an escalation point for advanced intrusion analysis.

• Create incident analysis reports and collaborate with various business units and customers to resolve issues.

• Assist in designing and establishing operational processes and procedures to enhance SOC efficiency.

• Deliver actionable threat and vulnerability analysis for multiple independent customer environments.

• Construct test lab environments to explore emerging techniques.

• Contribute to the development of internal and external threat-operations knowledge.

• Evaluate sandbox technologies for additional IOCs identified during analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5+) years of experience in an information security role; relevant training and/or certifications may substitute for one (1) year of the experience requirement.

• Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) setting.

• At least two (2+) years of experience in triaging endpoint events from EDR and NGAV and supporting the Incident Response (IR) process.

• Extensive knowledge in assessing threat indicators within a Windows environment.

• Strong understanding of at least two of the following: Windows, Linux, or OSX.

• Familiarity with the ELK stack, including dashboards, Logstash configuration, and search functionalities.

• Proficiency in scripting/programming with PowerShell, Python, and Go.

• Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, and IAM, as well as Azure/M365.

• Experience in developing, refining, and executing leadless threat hunting analysis.

• Exceptional problem-solving, critical-thinking, and analytical abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
