This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Implement outsourcing strategies for clinical trials in partnership with Clinical Development to meet business objectives and enhance return on investment.
• Oversee RFI/RFP processes, vendor assessments, and bid defense meetings to select CROs, Labs, RTSM, electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments, Blood Pressure Monitoring, and various specialty vendors in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
• Ensure that all outsourcing activities are performed ethically and comply with all relevant internal and external standards, processes, and guidelines.
• Negotiate and oversee MSAs, work orders, and change orders in cooperation with Legal; guarantee completeness, accuracy, and appropriate business terms (pricing, deliverables, milestones, payment schedules, and performance metrics).
• Collaborate cross-functionally to lead and manage special project initiatives such as preferred provider relationships, functional service provider models (FSP), strategic partnerships, standardization projects, metrics/KPIs, SOP development, and training programs.
• Promote standardization and process enhancements across vendors to ensure operational consistency and efficiency.
• Work with internal team members to manage vendor relationships and address any performance issues.
• Collaborate with Finance to project study budgets and manage financial accruals.
• Partner with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Quality, and Finance teams to foster operational excellence and compliance.
• Provide training and education to clinical development and other relevant functional areas regarding outsourcing activities, processes, and requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 6 years of experience in clinical outsourcing/vendor management within the pharmaceutical/biotech sectors or CROs.
• Experience in Commercial Sourcing is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiating complex contracts and managing vendor relationships.
• Familiarity with clinical trial operations, regulatory standards, and financial management.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
