This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Inspire and mentor engineering managers, senior engineers, and emerging technical leaders within the Authentication domain.
• Convert product and engineering strategies into a comprehensive technical roadmap, execution plan, and operational framework.
• Enhance the reliability, scalability, and operational performance of cloud-native, API-driven distributed systems.
• Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple simultaneous initiatives.
• Elevate standards for architecture, observability, testing, incident response, postmortems, and engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Research, Security, Platform, and other engineering teams.
• Manage metrics related to delivery health, system performance, team effectiveness, and on-call sustainability.
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point during customer issues and production incidents.
• Guide the application of AI/ML-driven trust signals, model outputs, and automation in production.
• Promote accountability, inclusivity, learning, and composed execution under pressure.
• 8–12+ years of experience in software engineering, with substantial experience in building and operating distributed backend systems and APIs in production environments.
• 3–5+ years of experience in engineering leadership, including managing teams through other managers and/or senior technical leads.
• Deep technical knowledge in cloud-native architecture, microservices, observability, CI/CD, and contemporary engineering practices across AWS and/or GCP.
• Demonstrated success in enhancing reliability, execution, and engineering standards for customer-facing, high-availability systems.
• Practical backend experience with Go and/or Python.
• Strong comprehension of data storage and service design for low-latency systems.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Security, Support, Customer Success, and engineering teams.
• Experience in authentication, identity, fraud prevention, risk engines, or security-sensitive product domains is a plus.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, RBAC/ABAC, or related access protocols is a plus.
• Experience in productionizing model outputs, risk signals, or AI/ML capabilities is a plus.
• Experience managing multi-cloud services with on-call responsibilities and incident management is a plus.
