Senior Manager, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and oversee a dynamic team of software engineers.

• DBT Testing & Quality Assurance: Design and execute a thorough testing framework within DBT.

• In-Depth Data Analysis & Profiling: Conduct comprehensive data profiling and detailed analyses utilizing SQL and Python.

• Product Strategy & Development: Work alongside Product Managers to create and prioritize the product backlog.

• Modern Data Infrastructure & Observability: Design and implement observability solutions using BigQuery, DBT, Elementary, and Grafana.

• AI-Enhanced Development: Advocate for the integration of AI productivity tools to improve the development process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in the modern data engineering stack, particularly DBT, SQL, and Python.

• Leadership Background: Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring a small group of engineers.

• Observability & AI Knowledge: Practical experience with observability tools (e.g., Elementary, Grafana).

• Industry Knowledge: Strong expertise in healthcare and NGS data.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to utilize data profiling and correlation analysis to address data integrity issues.

• Effective Communication: Capable of translating technical data quality challenges into actionable insights.
