This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct the strategy, roadmap, and implementation of the Privacy Engineering team, focusing on privacy infrastructure, data governance, and privacy-by-design initiatives.
• Recruit, mentor, and nurture a team of privacy engineers while establishing clear operating rhythms, priorities, and technical standards.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable privacy controls, encompassing data discovery, classification, access controls, audit logging, retention, deletion, lineage, encryption, and key management.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Security, Product, Data, Machine Learning, and Infrastructure teams to convert privacy requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Manage privacy reviews, technical risk assessments, and threat modeling for new products, data flows, models, and platform features.
• Establish metrics and effectively communicate progress, trade-offs, dependencies, and risks to both technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, coupled with 8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in direct people management.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams responsible for production software, platforms, privacy, security, or data systems.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, or managing privacy, security, data governance, or data platform capabilities in production settings.
• Background in translating privacy, security, compliance, or regulatory requirements into technical controls.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners such as Legal, Compliance, Security, Product, Data, or Machine Learning teams.
