This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the preparation and punctual submission of SEC reports, such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, proxy statements, and other necessary filings, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, SEC regulations, and XBRL tagging.
• Prepare or evaluate supporting schedules for financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A sections.
• Create disclosure checklists and tie-out documentation for SEC filings.
• Maintain the reporting calendar and guarantee timely completion of deliverables to meet deadlines.
• Lead the review process involving legal, external auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Propel continuous improvement within the reporting function by streamlining processes, simplifying disclosures, and implementing best practices.
• Assist in the establishment and upkeep of SOX-compliant internal controls over financial reporting.
• Aid in the preparation of internal management and investor reports, along with materials for the Audit Committee.
• Support regulatory inquiries and information requests as needed.
• Analyze financial data to detect trends, anomalies, or areas of risk and enhancement.
• Collaborate closely with executive leadership, legal, investor relations, and auditors to provide high-quality reporting.
• Foster a culture of learning, ownership, and operational excellence within the controllership team and the broader finance department.
• Research and evaluate new accounting standards and SEC requirements, translating complex guidance into actionable practices.
• Offer technical accounting guidance to finance and cross-functional teams as necessary.
• Support ad-hoc financial reporting initiatives and other strategic projects as the company expands.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; active CPA is required.
• Over 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Extensive experience in SEC reporting (Regs S-X and S-K), including ownership of 10-Ks/10-Qs and financial statement preparation in a public company.
• Solid foundation in US GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting best practices.
• A blend of public company and Big 4 experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in fintech, technology, or high-growth industries is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Workiva (required) and NetSuite (preferred).
• Public company reporting experience is essential.
• Comply with all company security policies and data handling procedures.
