This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead, develop, and expand a high-performing revenue accounting team, cultivating a culture of accountability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic adoption of modern technologies and AI-enhanced workflows.
• Review and assess customer contracts and complex commercial agreements to ensure that revenue recognition conclusions are consistent with ASC 606 and company policies.
• Collaborate closely with Legal, Deal Desk, Sales, Revenue Operations, Professional Services, and other stakeholders to design scalable commercial arrangements and evaluate non-standard deal terms.
• Oversee critical components of the monthly and quarterly close process related to revenue, guaranteeing accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial reporting.
• Lead and influence cross-functional quote-to-cash and revenue operations initiatives, including process enhancements, automation efforts, and systems implementations aimed at increasing scalability, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Act as the Finance organization’s subject matter expert on revenue recognition and ASC 606.
• Spearhead strategic revenue initiatives, such as new systems implementations, adoption of accounting standards, and support for evolving go-to-market strategies.
• Promote simplification, automation, and continuous improvement across revenue accounting processes and workflows, utilizing AI-enabled tools and scalable technologies to enhance efficiency, reporting, and business insights.
• Collaborate with external auditors by presenting key revenue accounting issues, providing audit support, and conducting technical accounting analyses.
• Convey revenue accounting considerations, operational insights, and significant business trends to senior finance leadership.
• Over 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with substantial experience in SaaS or software revenue accounting environments.
• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, including experience in evaluating complex SaaS and services arrangements.
• Strong capability to interpret complex commercial agreements and assess their accounting implications.
• Proven track record of leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Experience in enhancing and scaling quote-to-cash processes, systems, and controls in a high-growth setting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment while juggling multiple priorities.
• Strong systems and operational mindset, with experience across ERP, CRM, billing, and revenue platforms.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for utilizing AI and emerging technologies to enhance accounting operations, workflows, and decision-making.
• Experience in a high-growth public company or late-stage private company environment is advantageous.
