Senior Manager, Reactor Safety & Reliability Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Provide both technical and managerial guidance for several engineering first-line managers and their teams.

• Motivate, recruit, mentor, and cultivate technical and leadership talent.

• Build robust working relationships with internal engineering managers, business leaders, project managers, and stakeholders.

• Engage with external partners, customers, the NRC, and relevant country-specific regulatory bodies on technical matters.

• Oversee performance and program management for assigned projects, ensuring timely completion of engineering commitments.

• Plan, coordinate, and manage technical tasks and activities that support engineering deliverables.

• Spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of necessary systems in line with program/project software requirements.

• Guide the application of system specifications by other technical disciplines and project design collaborators.

• Manage external resources to guarantee quality deliverables, flexibility, and enhanced cost positions.

• Assist in commercial and marketing efforts while identifying new business opportunities.

• Safeguard GVH intellectual property rights.

• Endorse GE initiatives, process enhancements, simplification, and design-to-cost strategies.

• Ensure compliance with nuclear energy quality standards, including design reviews and corrective measures.

• Coordinate Reactor Safety & Reliability domains with the BWRX-300 Design Team, Engineering departments, and project leaders.

• Report directly to the Engineering General Manager of Fuel & Digital Engineering.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership.

• Eligibility to gain access authorization for U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable.

• Legally permitted to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as required.

• Proven ability to act as a liaison between organizations operating in different geographic locations.

• Demonstrated capability to achieve results while fostering strong team performance.

• Established interpersonal and leadership abilities; capacity to think strategically, be innovative, and act swiftly.

• Proficient in leading highly experienced engineers and managing multiple demands and priorities.

• Experience in project management, including communication, risk management, planning/scheduling, and change management.

• Background in the nuclear industry or comparable large-scale new-build experience in the power sector.

• Familiarity with USNRC licensing requirements.

• Experience and knowledge in EPC, particularly in power plants.

• Understanding of the nuclear industry and its technologies.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to document, plan, market, and manage programs that enhance business knowledge, understanding, and capabilities.
