Senior Manager, Quality Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold the enterprise-wide quality assurance program and clinical quality standards for the DSO.

• Create standardized quality metrics, audits, scorecards, and reporting processes across dental practices.

• Conduct and supervise clinical and operational quality audits, including chart reviews, documentation assessments, infection control, radiographic practices, treatment planning, and patient safety initiatives.

• Analyze clinical and operational data to uncover trends, identify gaps, determine root causes, and recognize opportunities for improvement.

• Formulate corrective and preventive action plans while monitoring their effectiveness.

• Support the implementation of evidence-based clinical protocols and the standardization of best practices.

• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams on dental regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

• Assist in regulatory inspections, external audits, and accreditation processes.

• Address quality-of-care concerns, patient complaints, adverse events, and clinical incidents.

• Create executive-level quality dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Present quality findings and recommendations to senior leadership and clinical governance committees.

• Lead quality improvement initiatives across the enterprise from planning through evaluation.

• Develop policies, procedures, audit tools, educational materials, and resources for quality improvement.

• Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives involving Operations, Clinical, Compliance, Risk Management, IT, and other divisions.

• Provide guidance and coaching to leaders at both regional and practice levels.

• Facilitate quality-related training for clinical and operational teams.

• Act as a subject-matter expert in dental quality assurance and patient safety.

• Foster relationships with clinical and operational leaders, influencing practice behavior through education, data sharing, collaboration, and accountability.

• Encourage consistency while accommodating state-specific regulatory requirements and practice contexts.

• May oversee Quality Assurance staff, clinical auditors, analysts, or other quality professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Quality Management, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

• 5–8+ years of experience in healthcare quality, dental quality assurance, clinical operations, compliance, or a related sector.

• Preferably experienced within a dental practice, dental group, DSO, healthcare system, or a multi-site clinical setting.

• Proven experience in developing or managing quality assurance, quality improvement, audit, or compliance programs.

• Strong understanding of dental clinical workflows, documentation standards, patient safety, and infection control.

• Experience in analyzing quality metrics and converting data into actionable improvement strategies.

• Capability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.

• Willingness to travel to dental practices as necessary.

• Preferred: clinical dental background such as DDS/DMD, RDH, or another dental clinical credential.

• Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Quality Management, or a related field.

• Preferred: experience with DSO operations and multi-state dental regulations.

• Preferred: certifications such as CPHQ, CHC, or Lean/Six Sigma.

• Preferred: experience with electronic dental/health records and quality reporting systems.

• Preferred: familiarity with root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and methodologies for continuous improvement.
