Senior Manager, Public and Community Affairs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and implement strategies for community engagement.

• Facilitate training sessions for Community Champions aimed at store and club associates.

• Offer tools, resources, support, and guidance for events.

• Manage local giving budgets and propose investments that align with corporate strategy and business priorities.

• Adapt and promote national initiatives focused on belonging, health and wellness, opportunity, sustainability, and local sourcing.

• Provide counsel to leaders on community engagement opportunities.

• Work collaboratively across departments to enhance engagement and communication efforts.

• Establish and nurture connections with community leaders.

• Identify opportunities for volunteerism and community impact.

• Enhance Walmart’s local relationships, reputation, and community involvement across U.S. markets.

• Exemplify Walmart’s values, ethics, integrity, and compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences, or a related field, along with 5 years of experience in public affairs, community relations, corporate social responsibility, stakeholder engagement, or a related field, OR 7 years of experience in those domains.

• Exceptional written, oral, visual, and social media communication abilities.

• Prior experience in training, teaching, or leading groups of various sizes.

• A commitment to lifelong learning.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• A valid driver’s license.

• Willingness to travel domestically 60–75% of the time, including consecutive overnight stays.

• Preferred qualifications include experience in Government Relations, Lobbying, and Media Relations.
