This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee and coordinate the daily operational delivery of people governance and accountability at Monzo.
• Assist in transforming complex regulatory requirements into practical, efficient, and well-controlled processes that function at scale.
• Manage the daily execution of our accountability regimes (SMCR and IAF/SEAR), ensuring that key processes, controls, timelines, and outputs are delivered to a high standard.
• Conduct business-as-usual activities related to fit and proper assessments, certification, accountability processes (including applications and mapping), governance documentation, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate the team's daily tasks, ensuring that priorities are clear and that delivery remains on track.
• Serve as a trusted subject matter expert in accountability and people governance, aiding stakeholders in navigating complexity and making informed, risk-based decisions.
• Develop and enhance our broader people governance framework, focusing on managing people-related risks, controls, decision-making, and organizational change.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, controls, and tools, enhancing the efficiency, scalability, and usability of our frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with teams across People, Legal, Compliance, Risk & Controls, Company Secretariat, our Board, and the broader business to facilitate decision-making and maintain workflow.
• Support audit, assurance, and regulatory engagement with high-quality evidence, documentation, reporting, and process management.
• Utilize data and insights to identify themes, recognize risks, prioritize improvements, and shape the operational roadmap for the team.
• You possess substantial experience in a regulated environment, ideally within governance, compliance, risk, or legal domains.
• You have practical experience with SMCR in a UK dual-regulated (FCA/PRA) firm and familiarity with IAF/SEAR or other accountability regimes.
• You can effectively translate regulatory or policy requirements into clear, actionable processes, training, and guidance.
• You have experience in planning and leading projects from inception to completion, driving delivery while keeping tasks on track.
• You are collaborative and considerate in your work approach, excelling at uniting diverse stakeholders to resolve problems effectively.
• You are a strong communicator, whether drafting governance documents, enhancing processes, or discussing nuanced decisions.
• You are adept at building relationships with senior stakeholders and comfortable presenting in senior forums.
• You are capable of working independently and adjusting to shifting priorities, quickly focusing on higher-risk areas when necessary.
• You enjoy enhancing working methods—identifying gaps, providing structure, and creating more effective, reliable processes.
• You combine data with judgment and are confident in making pragmatic recommendations even when a perfect solution isn't available.
• You excel in a fast-paced environment where you balance control, speed, and practicality.
