This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Supervise the daily management of the company's health and welfare programs, which encompass medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), and retirement plans.
• Act as the primary operational owner of employee benefit programs, ensuring their effective and compliant administration.
• Collaborate with brokers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to uphold competitive and efficient benefit offerings.
• Serve as the main point of escalation for complex employee benefit inquiries and problem resolution.
• Ensure adherence to relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other benefits-related requirements.
• Track regulatory changes, evaluate their impact on the organization, provide recommendations, and implement necessary updates.
• Oversee monthly benefit billing, reconciliations, audits, and provider reporting.
• Lead benefit plan renewals, annual open enrollment initiatives, employee communications, and the rollout of new benefit programs.
• Configure and maintain benefit plans within the HRIS system.
• Collaborate with brokers and vendors to assess utilization, claims, and program performance, offering suggestions for ongoing improvement.
• Assist with budget planning by delivering benefits data, analysis, and insights.
• Contribute to the organization's compensation programs through market pricing and benchmarks to ensure competitive pay aligned with business objectives.
• Enhance the overall administration and continuous progress of People Operations programs, processes, and systems.
• Act as a key administrator for the company's HRIS platform, ensuring data integrity, system accuracy, and streamlined workflows.
• Partner with Payroll and Finance to facilitate employee lifecycle transactions and payroll-related processes.
• Develop and uphold standard operating procedures, documentation, and process enhancements.
• Identify opportunities to optimize and automate People Operations processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
• Offer guidance and support to People Operations team members regarding complex employee issues, policies, and procedures.
• Create and maintain People Operations dashboards, reports, and workforce metrics.
• Track and analyze essential people metrics, such as headcount, turnover, retention, recruiting activity, benefits utilization, compensation, and employee demographics.
• Convert workforce data into actionable insights and recommendations for the People Team and business leaders.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting obligations.
• Contribute to workforce planning, budgeting, and organizational reporting initiatives.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee and organizational data.
• Manage relationships with benefit providers, brokers, retirement vendors, and People Operations partners.
• Coordinate vendor implementations, renewals, audits, and ongoing performance evaluations.
• Support internal and external audit requests related to benefits, HRIS, and employee data.
• Maintain compliance documentation and ensure operational readiness for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Provide daily leadership, coaching, and support to direct reports.
• Set goals and priorities for the People Operations team.
• Cultivate a culture of accountability, service excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
• Promote professional development and growth opportunities for team members.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in Benefits and People Operations.
• 5+ years of experience overseeing employee benefit programs.
• Prior management experience acting as both a contributor and mentor.
• Experience managing health and retirement plans and vendor relationships.
• Proficiency in administering self-funded medical plans.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and employee data management.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience handling complex employee issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with Rippling or other HRIS platforms (Preferred).
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce (Preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Preferred).
• CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification (Preferred).
• Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth organization (Preferred).
