This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Act as a trusted advisor, collaborating closely with senior leaders to convert near and long-term business goals into a scalable people strategy.
• Offer guidance on various topics including strategy, the implementation and execution of the complete talent management lifecycle, organizational design, and compensation for a workforce of over 300 employees.
• Mentor and develop employees to enhance leadership skills.
• Maintain strong connections with the business, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their operations and strategies and how they influence other cross-functional teams.
• Assist in aligning functions’ talent plans with the necessary capabilities for the future to fulfill Deckers' strategic growth objectives.
• Create effective change management plans with leaders to support organizational growth and transformation.
• Recognize signals within the organization through both formal and informal channels, such as regular engagement, employee surveys, and people data analysis.
• Anticipate needs before issues arise or gaps widen.
• Leverage data to uncover talent and culture opportunities and convert insights into actionable plans that support the people strategy.
• Evaluate organizational needs and collaborate with COEs to implement solutions related to talent acquisition, learning and development, change management, retention, DEI, and career and leadership development.
• Work closely and share insights with PXBPs (HQ & regional) and COEs to ensure a clear and mutual understanding of broader business needs and interdependencies across client groups.
• Identify areas of synergy and opportunities for scalability, as well as potential overlaps or conflicts.
• Champion and advocate for global talent priorities and facilitate the successful implementation of Deckers' people practices and programs within client groups, including performance management, headcount prioritization/management, goal setting, compensation processes, and workforce planning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless PX experiences across the global business.
• Share knowledge of high-potential talent within client groups and foster connections across teams.
• Partner with PX colleagues to pinpoint opportunities for talent movement and development throughout the business.
• As a vital member of the broader PX team, engage in cross-functional initiatives beyond assigned client groups for wider impact and insight.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Over 9 years of progressive HR experience as an HRBP or similar role in a matrixed, high-growth setting.
• Proven experience in collaborating with COEs, regional/global HR leaders, and senior business executives.
• Proficient in influencing and establishing trusting partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to implement comprehensive talent plans for attracting, developing, retaining, and succeeding specialized talent.
• Experienced in forward-thinking talent strategies in partnership with COEs.
• A collaborative, humble, and team-oriented HR leader who understands the big picture while also focusing on the details.
• A relationship builder, collaborator, and influencer who can prioritize tasks and ensure that all clients feel valued.
• Exhibit sound judgment and balance the needs of the business, culture, management, and employees.
• Capable of synthesizing complex scenarios into action-oriented formats for leaders and teams.
• Knowledgeable about diversity, equity, and inclusion principles throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities; adept at utilizing people analytics for talent solutions.
• Proven capacity to listen actively, influence effectively, and build trust at all levels.
• Solid understanding of US employment laws and when to consult regional experts.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical skills to extract insights from people analytics and develop action plans.
• Thrive in a dynamic, scaling, and agile environment, managing ambiguity and driving improvements.
• Knowledge of Workday is a plus.
