Senior Manager, MQ, ACE Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the engineering, operations, modernization, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise IBM MQ and IBM ACE platforms.

• Ensure the platform meets reliability, scalability, security, and performance standards.

• Develop and implement the strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance for the MQ and ACE platforms.

• Promote platform automation, enhance operational efficiency, optimize performance, and manage capacity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and continual service enhancement.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate high-performing engineering teams.

• Encourage a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

• Manage key vendor relationships, support models, and technology lifecycle planning.

• Execute complex enterprise integration projects.

• Collaborate with leaders in Application Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud Platform, Security, and Enterprise Architecture.

• Provide secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective messaging and integration services.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 7 years of experience in supporting enterprise integration, middleware, messaging, or platform engineering in large-scale organizations.

• At least 5 years of experience in leading engineering, platform, infrastructure, or technology teams with responsibilities for delivery, operations, and talent development.

• Over 5 years of experience in administering, architecting, and optimizing IBM MQ environments, including performance tuning, resilience, troubleshooting, and operational support.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) or IBM Integration Bus (IIB) solutions within complex enterprise integration landscapes.

• At least 3 years of experience in implementing high-availability architectures, disaster recovery solutions, DevOps automation, CI/CD practices, and hybrid or cloud-based integration platforms.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and hybrid integration environments.

• Knowledge of Kafka, IBM Event Streams, API management platforms, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or container-based integration architectures.

• Experience in leading platform modernization, automation, and operational transformation initiatives in large enterprises.

• Understanding of Agile, SAFe, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern platform engineering methodologies.

• Relevant technical certifications in IBM MQ, ACE, cloud, or other related fields.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.

• High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted as an alternative educational pathway.
