This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Conduct Optimization Needs Assessments for Designated Functions
• Collaborate with L&D, HR, and business leaders to evaluate optimization requirements within the supported teams.
• Integrate qualitative and quantitative data to pinpoint gaps, root causes, and opportunities, and convert findings into prioritized, impactful recommendations that shape L&D roadmaps and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Implement Learning Optimization Initiatives
• Propel the execution of learning optimization strategies that align with the overarching L&D vision.
• Manage initiatives as organized projects—defining scope, success criteria, timelines, and milestones—while uncovering opportunities to enhance learner engagement, content effectiveness, and program scalability.
• Foster Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement Capability
• Guide and support the establishment of continuous improvement practices throughout the L&D team by overseeing evaluations of program effectiveness utilizing participation data, learner feedback, and business performance metrics.
• Strengthen team capability in recognizing trends, performing root cause analysis, and executing iterative enhancements to boost relevance, learner experience, adoption, and measurable outcomes over time.
• Drive Program Delivery Excellence & Develop Project Management Capability
• Oversee comprehensive project management from design, development, deployment, to facilitation, while enhancing team capability in project management disciplines.
• Establish and exemplify best practices including thorough project planning, timeline and dependency management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
• Mentor and assist L&D team members in adopting consistent tools, frameworks, and operational rhythms to ensure high-quality, timely delivery and sustained operational excellence.
• Analyze Learning Data & Deliver Insights
• Gather, analyze, and interpret learning metrics (engagement, completion, satisfaction, application, and impact).
• Convert data into actionable insights, identify optimization opportunities, and offer regular, data-informed recommendations to L&D and business leadership.
• Assist with Learning Technology Optimization
• Collaborate with LMS administrators and vendors to improve system functionality, user experience, and content accuracy.
• Track usage trends, identify system-related challenges, and promote continuous enhancements to boost the adoption and effectiveness of learning technologies.
• Serve as a Senior Learning Partner
• Act as a trusted advisor to designated business areas, aligning learning solutions with evolving skill, performance, and engagement needs while fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Mentor & Exemplify Best Practices
• Provide guidance and informal mentorship to junior team members.
• Advocate for best practices in project management, continuous improvement, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement to elevate overall team capability.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience in Learning Optimization and Solution Design may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
• Over 7 years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or learning and development program optimization.
• More than 3 years of experience leading projects and mentoring others.
• Extensive experience managing medium- to large-scale learning initiatives from inception through implementation, utilizing project management tools and structured methodologies.
• Strong business acumen with the capacity to align learning solutions with operational priorities and articulate impact in measurable business terms.
• Profound understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, with the ability to guide team members in their effective application.
• Experience utilizing data and analytics to assess learning effectiveness and recommend optimization improvements.
• Ability to consult with senior leaders and functional partners to identify capability gaps and translate business needs into practical learning solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across various departments and levels.
• Comfortable balancing strategic direction with hands-on involvement in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
