
Senior Manager, Indirect Tax

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and manage monthly compliance and filings across U.S. domestic state/local jurisdictions as well as international jurisdictions, ensuring appropriate documentation for accurate and timely tax compliance.
• Assess product taxability and spearhead the taxability matrix determination and configuration of the company's tax engines and reporting tools.
• Keep a close watch on global digital economy regulations and international cross-border rules that may affect the company, implementing necessary changes to business processes.
• Oversee tax audits from beginning to end, including addressing audit inquiries and information requests, as well as resolving notices.
• Manage account reconciliations and accruals related to indirect taxes for financial statement reporting.
• Lead and develop a globally distributed team, focusing on hiring, coaching, and development as the function expands.
• Establish clear objectives, assess performance, provide coaching and training, and promote a high-performance culture centered on teamwork, excellence, and ownership.
• Cultivate an inclusive culture that acknowledges individual strengths and creates opportunities for engagement and growth.
• Represent the tax function in cross-functional projects, contributing tax expertise to broader business initiatives.
• Participate in special projects as priorities shift.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is strongly preferred.
• Over 10 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or a comparable role in a large corporate tax department, with a focus on technology and SaaS preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of U.S. sales & use tax along with international VAT/GST regulations.
• Experience in people management with a proven track record of leading, directing, and coaching teams.
• Practical experience with Avalara, NetSuite, Alteryx, and Salesforce, including the ability to utilize data tools for managing large data volumes is advantageous.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
