This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Reporting to the Global Sourcing Category Director, the Senior Manager of Indirect Operations is a crucial strategic position within the Global Indirect Supply Management team.
• To excel in this role, this leader will assist the Global Supply Chain and Global Facilities Management teams in enhancing efficiencies throughout Europe, collaborating with stakeholders in Operations and Security Guard Services.
• This position will engage with various internal C-level executives, operations and supply chain leaders, plant managers, finance, and communications leaders to implement significant changes within SBD, advancing the Power of One SBD initiative.
• Key sub-categories encompass MRO, Facilities, and Office Supplies, which may also include subcategories like Plant and Corporate hard and soft services, corporate printer and mailroom management, Real Estate, General Industrial distribution MRO parts, Tooling, and Specialty MRO purchases such as Lubricants and Chemicals.
• This role will additionally be accountable for overseeing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value creation for these categories through a blend of productivity, quality, innovation, service excellence, risk management, and margin resilience.
• Specifically, your responsibilities will include: Developing global sourcing strategies that deliver value through productivity, service, quality, and innovation.
• Supporting the Procurement Operations organization in project implementations driven by your strategies and initiatives.
• Leading, coaching, and motivating the team to achieve Balanced Scorecard metrics.
• Conducting strategic spend analytics to identify opportunities for value delivery.
• Managing relationships and setting expectations with our Preferred Suppliers.
• Overseeing the supplier selection and negotiation process within SBD’s EMEA Region.
• Monitoring performance across all applicable spend categories and defining budgetary impacts.
• Establishing sustainable business partnerships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
• 6 to 10 years of strategic sourcing experience, particularly in driving change within matrixed organizations.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in at least two of the mandatory categories, with MRO being essential: MRO, Facilities, Utilities, and Professional Services.
• 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Forward-thinking perspective on the future of work and its implications for facilities design.
• Proven track record in developing, advocating for, and executing category strategies within a large, matrixed organizational environment.
• Change leader with the capacity to adjust to evolving conditions and recognize innovative solutions that provide value.
• Extensive experience in managing supplier relationships and assessing when to insource or outsource.
• Demonstrated capability in managing complex commercial and contractual negotiations, alongside ongoing supplier performance management and scorecards.
• Expertise in advanced sourcing techniques and tools, as well as supplier management.
• Proficient in conducting market analysis, cost modeling, and financial risk management.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels, particularly with C-level, VP, and Director-level individuals.
• Skilled in influencing without direct authority and comfortable navigating conflicts of opinion, with a history of achieving positive and constructive outcomes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining composure under pressure from various tactical workstreams.
• Must be open to traveling up to 40% of the time.
