This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of and enhance Affirm’s global mobility strategy encompassing immigration, remote work, and international assignments.
• Develop globally uniform policies and decision-making frameworks for immigration, cross-border employment, and permanent relocations, while allowing for necessary local adaptability.
• Create scalable processes and tools to facilitate global mobility within a remote-first setting.
• Collaborate with internal Legal teams and external counsel to implement compliant and forward-thinking immigration and mobility initiatives.
• Provide guidance to senior leadership concerning immigration, mobility, and location choices, considering evolving regulatory standards and impacts, while balancing business objectives, costs, and employee experiences.
• Work alongside Legal, Tax, Finance, Total Rewards, Payroll, Equity, and Talent teams to deliver synchronized, business-relevant programs.
• Direct vendor strategy and enhance partnerships with immigration attorneys and mobility service providers.
• Simplify intricate requirements into clear, employee-centric policies and directives.
• Promote the adoption of mobility frameworks through stakeholder education and empowerment.
• Establish and uphold reporting and analytics to measure program success and guide decision-making (e.g., timelines, SLAs, KPIs, compliance results, employee experience).
• 10–12+ years of expertise in global mobility and immigration, with substantial knowledge of U.S. immigration.
• Experience with developing and enhancing programs in a multi-jurisdictional, remote-first or distributed landscape.
• Comprehensive understanding of immigration, employment, and remote work compliance factors.
• Proven ability to function at both strategic and operational levels.
• Established experience in influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
• Strong judgment skills with the capability to navigate uncertainty and intricate trade-offs.
• Exceptional communication abilities, with a talent for converting complexity into clear, actionable guidance.
• Experience in managing vendors and developing and scaling programs.
