
Senior Manager, Global Congress Communications – Excellence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Convert the strategy for therapeutic area congresses into a detailed operational plan that encompasses sponsorships, abstracts/posters, symposia, medical engagements, digital content, and communications.
• Oversee the complete execution of medical activities for congresses, acting as the Medical representative on Core and Extended Planning Teams.
• Create and manage booth and digital assets utilizing platforms like Veeva for review, approval workflows, version control, asset reuse, and content governance.
• Supervise agency partners to ensure delivery within budget and on schedule.
• Take charge of booth staffing, training, and onsite communications.
• Guarantee compliance readiness through training, documentation, and the sponsorship approval process.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Strategic Global Giving on governance regarding sponsorships and congress planning.
• Direct pre- and post-congress planning for assigned events, promoting team best practices, tools, and templates.
• Track return-on-objective metrics and assist with pre-congress meetings and post-congress debriefs.
• Work with Medical subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to develop engaging congress content and experiences.
• Proactively manage risks and resolve issues to ensure flawless execution.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in congress communications, congress operations, medical communications, or related functions in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology sector.
• Proven track record in leading complex congress execution, including onsite leadership, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution, and management of multiple priorities, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Ability to foster cross-functional partnerships across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Publications, Corporate Affairs, Compliance, Legal, Commercial, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Experience in developing scientific communication strategies and translating intricate medical content into compelling congress engagement and educational opportunities.
• Proficient with content review and approval platforms like Veeva Vault, including digital asset management, workflow optimization, version control, and content governance.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Data-driven mindset with the capacity to influence stakeholders, identify innovative solutions, drive operational excellence, and adapt swiftly.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on execution and attention to detail.
• Capability to collaborate and influence without direct authority in matrixed organizations.
• An advanced degree (MS, PharmD, PhD, MBA, or equivalent) is preferred.
