This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of and implement intricate aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, which include journal entries, accruals, estimates, and reconciliations.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance of all financial statements and supporting schedules, with a specific focus on healthcare revenue reporting.
• Analyze general ledger activities to detect unusual trends, variances, or risks, and proactively address any issues that arise.
• Collaborate with FP&A and finance leadership to synchronize actual results with budget and forecast reporting.
• Conduct variance analysis and trend analysis for income statement and balance sheet accounts.
• Act as a finance and accounting resource for leadership by assisting with ad hoc reporting and analytical requests.
• Facilitate annual financial statement audits by providing supporting schedules, analyses, and audit documentation.
• Supervise the creation of dashboards, reporting infrastructure, and advanced analytical models to aid financial and operational decision-making.
• Guarantee data accuracy, integrity, and governance across enterprise financial and operational data sources.
• Lead the deployment and use of Power BI and other related business intelligence tools throughout the Controller’s Office.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate AI capabilities into existing business processes.
• Assess and support the application of large language models (LLMs) and AI-enabled technologies to enhance financial analytics, workflow efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
• Promote the adoption of AI solutions within the Controller’s Office, including training, governance, change management, and operational integration.
• Partner with operational leaders, finance teams, revenue cycle teams, and Technology Digital Solutions (TDS) to enhance reporting accuracy and operational insights.
• Mentor and assist accounting and finance staff by offering guidance on financial reporting, analytics, and system-related initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and customer service.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting.
• Six (6) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including prior management responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and healthcare accounting principles.
• Experience in developing dashboards, reporting infrastructure, and advanced analytical models.
• Proficiency in Power BI and familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, automation technologies, and large language models (LLMs).
• Capability to collaborate with stakeholders for integrating AI capabilities into operational workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and trend analysis skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced expertise in Excel and financial systems.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a complex healthcare organization.
• CPA - Certified Public Accountant preferred.
