This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, nurture, and enhance the IAM Platform engineering team, focusing on hiring, mentorship, performance management, and career advancement.
• Take ownership of delivering ClickUp's enterprise-level access management platform, which encompasses authorization, permissions, authentication, SCIM, sharing primitives, audit logs, OAuth/API tokens, and essential data models and APIs.
• Define the roadmap and set priorities in collaboration with product, security, and engineering leadership.
• Manage an AI-driven team utilizing agents and AI workflows to streamline routing, scoping, reporting on tasks, minimizing disruptions, and eliminating status meetings.
• Collaborate with enterprise clients, GTM, and security teams to address access-control and identity needs.
• Represent ClickUp during enterprise security and architectural evaluations.
• Ensure operational excellence for high-impact services, which includes on-call responsibilities, migrations, reliability, and security protocols.
• Maintain engineering standards for design and code reviews, testing, performance, and security-by-design principles.
• Work collaboratively across backend, frontend, platform, product, design, and information security teams.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering focused on building production SaaS solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience managing engineering teams, including senior engineers.
• Hands-on experience with identity and access management is essential.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWTs, MFA/2FA, enterprise SSO, SCIM, and RBAC/permissions and role models.
• Ideally, experience in a multi-tenant environment.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and agentic workflows for automating reporting, triage, and status updates.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade SaaS solutions at scale.
• Experience interacting directly with enterprise clients and addressing security, compliance, and administrative needs.
• History of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and retaining talent.
• Technical expertise to lead architecture discussions and make informed trade-offs on high-impact systems.
• A security-focused mindset that emphasizes precise access control, a server-side source of truth, accuracy, auditability, and impact assessment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Daily proficiency with AI tools.
• Preferred: experience with IAM or authorization at scale; configuration-driven or policy-based access models; Zero Trust identity principles; SCIM provisioning; audit logging; SOC 2/ISO 27001 compliance; advancing products to higher markets; AI-native operational frameworks; and managing backend/frontend engineers or leads.
