Senior Manager, Data Science – FCRM Modeling

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead a specialized team of data experts focused on enhancing business practices through data science.

• Oversee the overall function of the data scientist team, which includes Modelers and/or Data Scientists.

• Supervise the creation of data models, data mining efforts, and analytical solutions.

• Spearhead innovation projects and routine operations within FCRM sectors, including customer rating, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, emerging risks, model performance oversight, analytics, and reporting.

• Create tools utilizing technologies like LLMs to enhance the detection of complex risks and improve process efficiency.

• Manage stakeholder interactions and relevant model lifecycle processes.

• Recruit talent, establish goals, develop team members, make performance and compensation decisions, and address disciplinary matters.

• Offer strategic thought leadership, guide strategic discussions, and formulate roadmaps and frameworks.

• Direct and mentor Data Scientists, providing daily guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.

• Design and implement enterprise analytic solutions while collaborating with business leaders and cross-functional experts.

• Oversee team workloads and distribute data requests according to skills and developmental requirements.

• Create test-and-learn initiatives, business plans, recommendations, and remediation strategies.

• Identify risks, trends, opportunities, use cases, and value drivers; escalate issues as necessary.

• Ensure adherence to enterprise frameworks, regulatory standards, internal controls, and risk management policies.

• Lead cross-functional and enterprise-level initiatives as an organizational or subject-matter authority.

• Cultivate and retain a diverse, engaged, and high-performing team through inclusive leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must be either a U.S. Citizen or possess U.S. Resident Green Card authorization.

• Must not require current or future TD work visa sponsorship.

• Bachelor's degree or an advanced technical degree preferred, such as in math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science.

• A graduate degree is preferred, along with progressive project work experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience is required; candidates with 5 years of highly pertinent experience may also be considered.

• Experience in leading data science, analytics, or innovation initiatives for large-scale production solutions is essential.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar programming languages is required.

• Experience in financial crimes, compliance risk analytics, model risk, or similar risk management fields.

• Strong comprehension of large language models, machine learning, and quantitative risk analysis.

• Experience in optimizing, testing, and tuning AML/CTF solutions.

• Experience in developing dashboards, web applications, or other user-facing analytical tools.

• Proven experience in managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Ability to perform continuous sedentary work, multitask, use standard office equipment, maintain concentration over extended periods, read and comprehend instructions, and conduct basic arithmetic.

• Occasional domestic travel is required; international travel is not applicable.
