Senior Manager, Cross-Border Transportation

📋 Description

• In the role of Senior Manager, Cross Border Transportation at ShipBob, you will oversee carrier relationships and partnerships across all cross-border transportation modes for both inbound and outbound freight.

• This position also entails managing essential partnerships, including customs brokers and third-party duty and tax estimation systems.

• You will ensure that packages are efficiently processed through ShipBob’s systems and facilities, guaranteeing timely delivery for customers.

• As a subject matter expert, you will both manage and educate internal partners on cross-border entry processes and programs (such as USMCA and IOSS), along with destination country requirements and best practices to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

• Your role will have a direct impact on ShipBob’s overall customer experience, allowing you to contribute positively and significantly.

• This position reports to the Director of Transportation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of industry capabilities and processes, including but not limited to:

• Ocean and air consolidation.

• Small parcel cross-border requirements.

• LTL and truckload specifications.

• Intra-Europe trade (for example, EU to GB, NO, CH) border requirements.

• Familiarity with various cross-border entry requirements is essential.

• 5-10 years of experience in the ecommerce and shipping sectors.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with cross-border shipments.

• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, capable of simplifying complex processes and requirements for business partners.

• Project management experience is necessary.

• Strong computer and data analysis abilities, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with PowerBI and SQL is advantageous.

• Willingness to adjust working hours occasionally to accommodate operations in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Project Management/Engineering.

• A Licensed Customs Broker certification is a plus.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
