This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Draft, create, prepare, and review pharmaceutical contract documents in line with company policies.
• Handle rebate disputes effectively.
• Collaborate with Payors, GPOs, IDNs, clinics, and sales leaders to facilitate and oversee contract negotiations.
• Present intricate deal concepts and non-standard provisions to senior leadership.
• Oversee the contracting process from RFP through to contract negotiation and execution.
• Assist cross-functional Legal, Pricing, Sales, and Marketing teams with business logic and negotiation proficiency.
• Negotiate and revise pharmaceutical contract terms while offering alternative language options based on risk evaluation.
• Evaluate contract requirements, provisions, terms, and conditions for compliance with legal and policy standards.
• Manage pricing relationships, membership rosters, and contract eligibility processes.
• Spearhead the development of RFP requests and provide contractual documentation for bid submissions.
• Conduct contract discussions during RFP and RFI negotiations and coordinate stakeholder review of contentious provisions.
• Oversee deadlines and follow up with stakeholders regarding bids and agreements.
• Identify contractual risks and escalate issues to senior leadership and management.
• Direct contract-language revisions and finalize contract templates in collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Analyze contractual relationships and formulate business terms tailored to each relationship.
• Manage customer pricing and maintain master customer data in enterprise systems as necessary.
• Drive cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate onboarding processes for new EDI customers.
• Provide Customer Service with accurate pricing and payment terms to facilitate the release of held orders for processing.
• Maintain promotional and standard payment-terms tables within Customer Data and Systems.
• Operationalize innovative agreements for short-dated products, slow-moving products, and non-traditional direct customers.
• Undertake other reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in customer contracting, sales/marketing, or pricing, including contract review, drafting, and proficient negotiation.
• Required knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including hospital/pharmacy products and/or medical device contractual terms and conditions.
• Experience with Biosimilars/Biologics is highly preferred.
• Proven business acumen with experience in negotiating and redlining customer agreements, preferably with GPO, IDN, hospital, and/or clinic contracting.
• Familiarity with various contract types and comfort in working with them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, problem resolution, and interpersonal skills.
• Superior interpersonal and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams.
• Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience with operating systems such as SAP, BEX, Qlik, Veeva, Spring CM, or Model N is preferred.
• Working knowledge of contract management tools is a plus.
• Capability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects, demonstrating effective time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with employees and external business contacts while maintaining a positive, service-oriented attitude.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality and discretion, exercising sound business judgment.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English to perform essential job functions.
